Vivisection to Save Human Life

Vivisection is a controversial topic to discuss in health-related experiments. There are many arguments regarding the animals  used in this medical testing method. It is important that vivisection should be used in medical experiments, although there are other opinions against this procedure.

There are opinions expressing disagreement using vivisection to test medicine. It is because there is no certainty of using vivisection as a sustainable technique to discover cures. In clinical trials, 90% percent of medicines successfully tested by vivisection fail for humans because there are many different body functions between humans and animals. Furthermore, there is alternative research method to find a cure such as applying  the similar species' cells, tissues and organs like adult stem cells which provide no complications or problems   associated with tissue rejection. In addition, vivisection  wastes an overwhelming amount of money every year just to make low-grade medicine.

However, there are also many arguments to support vivisection to be used to discover  medical treatment. Firstly, there are very limited choices of animal experiments and vivisection is one of them which is essential in scientific advance is completed. There would be no cures, or new surgical method, cancer drugs or effective antibiotic if scientists took no advantage of animals in laboratories. Moreover, scientists treat animals like humans and practice  an appropriate method to conduct vivisection and there are no animals being hurt throughout the research.  For example, animal surgery is carried out by very qualified scientists  using anesthetics just like human procedures. This procedure is performed under  government supervision according to animal welfare laws and there are no endangered animals  used, only animals with a large-scale population such as mice, rabbits and frogs.

Although there are many opinions against vivisection as a research procedure to find better medical treatment, there are also many arguments to support this experiment method.  Based on the supporting arguments showed, vivisection should be used for medical experiments.
